Strawberry Festival welcomed over 120K visitors

Over 120K visitors walked the grounds at the 70th Poteet Strawberry Festival during the weekend of April 6 through April 9 and enjoyed perfect weekend weather.

Festival organizers have said unofficially the festival appears to have had a larger attendance than last year’s overall attendance. Festival-goers were able to enjoy various musical entertainment, a rodeo, parade and last but certainly not least, the food. Chicken on a stick, spiral potatoes and funnel cakes are some of the food items that had mouths watering and many waiting in long lines.

People lined the streets of Poteet to catch a glimpse of over 130 colorful entries with a mix of local and out-of-town participants. Entrants were given the opportunity to choose whether they wanted to be judged.
