Congrats, Jourdanton bands
The Mighty Indian Concert Bands competed in the UIL Region XI Concert and Sight Reading Contest.
The concert band, under the direction of Mr. Daniel Sharp, earned a Division 2 Excellent rating on stage and a Division 1 Superior rating in sight reading. Their program included “United Nations March” by King, “Redemption” by Galante and “Abracadabra” by Ticheli.
The Wind Symphony, under the direction of Mr. Tunde Onibudo, received Division 1 Superior ratings from all three concert and all three sight reading judges which combined with their first division in marching earned the band the Sweepstakes award.
Their program included “Radio Waves March” by Jewell, “Lux Aurumque” by Whitacre and “Tocatta and Fugue in d” by JS Bach.
The Jourdanton Junior High School Concert and Symphonic Bands competed at the UIL Region XI Concert and Sight Reading contest March 8 in Pleasanton.
The JJHS Concert Band earned a division 3 in concert and a division 2 in sight reading.
JJHS Symphonic Band received a division 2 in concert and a division 1 in sight reading.
