Pleasanton High School’s Valedictorian is Zorayda Martinez, daughter of Sergio and Margarita Martinez.
She is a participant in the Palo Alto College Upward Bound program as a Student Ambassador, a member of the PHS Band, a member of the PHS Chapter of National Honor Society as the Treasurer, a participant in UIL Academics, a participant of the Student Legislative Session, and was a NASA High School Aerospace Scholar in her junior year.
She was presented with Teenager of the Year for 2018 by the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce. In UIL Science, she advanced to the Regional Meet during her sophomore, junior, and senior years.
She will be attending Texas A&M University-Commerce, and intends to major in Physics with an Emphasis in Astrophysics and a second major in Mathematics. She plans to use her college education to work as a research scientist in the future.
