Xavier Florez

Xavier Florez, age 34, of Jourdanton, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2013 in Pleasanton.

We know Xavier was greatly respected among the community, and we know this, by the many messages that we as his family have received during this great tragedy. Xavier was a non-judgmental person. To him everyone deserved a second chance. He always had a kind word and an encouraging word to anyone who was hurting. He would use his own thoughts combined with scriptures to give people hope and confidence that everything would be alright. He was admired and respected by many musicians, composers and singers in our area.

Xavier was talented in music, he played guitar, drums, and composed his own songs. One of his best songs he composed was “Living In A Mansion” at the age of 15. He was a loving father to his children; he provided all their needs making sure they would never go without. His loving wife Sandra, a resident of Pleasanton, met Xavier at a youth bible study at the age of 15. He came home that night and said to his father, “Dad, I have found the girl of my dreams,” and from that moment he was ready for marriage. He composed a song with Sandra on his mind, titled “By Your Side” and sang it to her at their wedding. He loved music and he loved computers. Xavier, along with his art and his work will be sorely missed. He is survived by his wife, Sandra (Rodriguez) Florez of Jourdanton; son, Xavier Florez, II of Jourdanton; daughter, Xailey Florez of Jourdanton; and parents, Juan and Elva (Trevino) Florez of Pleasanton. He is also survived by brothers, Benito Jose Florez of Greeley, CO, Benito Florez of Beloit, WI, Mario Florez of Greeley, CO, John Florez of San Antonio; sister, Shellie Reyna of Pleasanton; and fourteen nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by daughter, Ciara Florez and sister, Rebekah Florez.
