The Poteet High School Culinary Arts class succeeded on April 5, at breaking the previous record for world’s tallest shortcake. The shortcake assembled in Poteet collapsed the first time at 40 inches. The students then removed the cakes from the rod, re-stacked them and succeeded at 5 feet, 1 1/3 inches, which was certified by Walt Rakowitz.
