Wilma Briggs of Charlotte, age 95 years and 4 months, passed away June 17, 2020, in Pleasanton.
Wilma was born in Smithville, on February 10, 1925, the daughter of Ewald Raemsch and Annie Liska Raemsch.
Wilma graduated from Smithville High School in 1942. On October 22, 1946, she married Frank Briggs. They moved to Charlotte in January 1949, where they continued to make their home. Wilma was a member of the Charlotte United Methodist Church.
Wilma was preceded in death by husband, Frank Guy Briggs; her parents; her brothers, Gilbert and Albert Raemsch; and sister, Lillian Pavel.
She is survived by her son, Gaylen Briggs and wife Elaine of Jourdanton; daughter, Wanda Heiligman and husband John of Charlotte; grandchildren, Shannon Briggs Lee and husband Travis, Lachelle Briggs Chain and husband Wesley, Amber Briggs Beard and husband Brad, Kimberley Briggs Popham and husband Matthew, Jim Heiligman and wife Courtney, and Harrison Heiligman and wife Ashlee; great-grandchildren, Sawyer and Lila Lee, Gatlyn and Kinsley Chain, Mattisyn Popham, Clarke, Camille and Charlton Heiligman and Johnny and Adia Heiligman.
A graveside service was held at the Charlotte City Cemetery on June 22, at 11 a.m. with her grandson, Jim Heiligman, officiating.
