WILBURN HUTH

 

 

Wilburn John Huth was born August 24, 1926, to Robert William and Ida Schmidt Huth in Karnes County and went to be with Jesus on October 16, 2020. He was surrounded by his loving wife and two sons as he passed into God’s hands.

He spent his childhood growing up on a farm with his siblings in Karnes County. Wilburn joined the U.S. Army in September 1950 and served with the United States Army Corps of Engineers until 1952. He married JoAnn Stubbs of Victoria on April 17, 1955, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Victoria. Through his hard work, dedication and faith, he and JoAnn ran a business and raised his two sons which built up a strong legacy for their family. He was a proud grandpa of five grandchildren who remember his love, affection and life lessons. He was blessed to have eight great-grandchildren who were spoiled with his sweet smiles and kisses on the forehead. Everyone who knew Wilburn, knew a man of great courage and was blessed by his ability to make anyone smile.

Wilburn was preceded in death by his parents, and his siblings, Floyd Huth, Stanley Huth, Robert Lee Huth, Walter Ray Huth, Iola Anderson, Lorena Chevalier Tate and Pearl Jakoby. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, JoAnn Huth and two sons; Terry Wayne Huth and wife Darlene, and Dudley Ken Huth and wife Dana; sister, Irene Roberts, sister-in-law, Kathleen Huth; and brother-in-law, Wallace Tate; grandchildren, Jeremy Wayne Huth, Luke Philip Huth, Alyssa Jane Muriel and husband Jerry, Emma Gayle Huth and Jed Donovan Huth; great-grandchildren, Chance Jaxon Muriel, Brooklynne Nicole Muriel, Arie Bella Muriel, Jace Riley Huth, Taylnn Renee Linder, Ellie Grace McDougal, Lily Claire and Charlotte Raine Huth along with several nieces and nephews and cousins.

A viewing for Wilburn Huth will be held on October 24, at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton at 8 a.m. and the funeral service will follow at 10 a.m. A graveside service will be held at Karnes City Cemetery in Karnes City, at 3 p.m.
