Dr. Sarah E. Groff is a Residency Trained Board- Certified Dermatologist and owner of Dynamic Dermatology. Dr. Groff founded Dynamic Dermatology in 2019, where she practices surgical, cosmetic and medical dermatology. Dr. Groff grew up in Dallas, received her undergraduate degree in Human Biology at the University of Texas and graduated with University Honors. She attended medical school at the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston, Texas. After finishing medical school, Dr. Groff moved to San Antonio to complete her dermatology residency at the UT Health Science Center. Throughout her time in medical school and residency, Dr. Groff has been awarded several honors. She was awarded the Austin Humanism Award for her remarkable compassion towards patients. Her final year in residency, she was granted the position as Chief Resident.

Dr. Groff started her medical journey interested in pediatrics; however, she soon realized that she had a love for treating families. She said, “There is something special about seeing patients and their children over and over again” which lead her to dermatology. Her passion for dermatology has only grown, along with her value of comprehensive patient care and continuity.

She said one of the most common treatments among teens is acne. As Dr. Groff begins treating teens with acne, she said, “I love seeing the patient’s confidence building over the weeks.” Annual skin checks or skin cancer screenings is also very important and common among her patients. Dr. Groff pointed out that patients often come in for one spot, and they find another spot the patient was unaware of somewhere else on their skin. Dr. Groff highlighted the importance of protecting our skin from the sun in these coming months. She said that a very important factor to consider when buying sunscreen is purchasing a mineral-based sunscreen containing minerals such as zinc or titanium.

In the short time Dynamic Dermatology has been open, Dr. Groff has already been able to give back to the community. She has done skin cancer screening talks at Blue Skies, a retirement community for military officers. She also closes her office on Wednesday afternoons to teach at the UT Health Science Center.
