Wedding Wonder

We spent a weekend on the beautiful Frio River witnessing the marriage of some long time friends, Yvonne and Kenny.

I
was asked to be the “official” photographer of the wedding. This is
something I used to do a lot, but now I only do it for a very select
few. I got a little busy once I had three kids and limited handing out
my photo skills to only family and close friends.

Needless
to say the bride was gorgeous. The groom, debonaire. And the family was
amazing. The river was perfect and luckily the weather held off.

There
were a few storms that rolled through on Friday although we did have
fun running around the campus in the rain. We watched the skies very
closely on Saturday, but all was good.

It
was a mini reunion of sorts for us. Yvonne is the sister of one of my
best friends, Roxanne, so the guests were mainly made up of people we
knew and don’t get to see all that often. Friends from high school and
also family of the bride that we enjoy being with.

We
hung out all weekend. Most of the campus was rented out to guests of
the wedding so we had big meals together in and out of cabins and RVs.
LOL It was a great family feeling. I was so glad my kids were able to
spend time with the other kids and enjoy just being kids.

As
beautiful as the wedding was there were many memorable little things
that happened as well. For example when Kenny’s dog, Cash, a
bullmastiff, got loose and ran around the campus. He’s a sweet dog who
did nothing but shake the rain from his fur and go back to the yard. Or
even the Harlem Shake video that was cast with all wedding party and
guests. But perhaps the most unique event were the spontaneous arm
wrestling matches that took place at the after party. I don’t think I’ve
ever had so much fun at anyone else’s wedding (other than my own ;).

Thank you Kenny and Yvonne for such a fun-filled weekend. We hope nothing but the best for you for all your life.
