We want to see your pictures of the infamous Texas horned lizard or as most of us know them, horny toads. Watch for our Facebook post and comment with your picture and #hornytoadstx. We would really love it if you could let us know where you found them, for example #hornytoadschristinetx or #hornytoadspleasantontx. Please remember to not harm the lizards, we want them to flourish once again with all the efforts being made to bring them back through a project by the San Antonio Zoo and supported by organizations like the San Miguel Electric Cooperative (SMEC).

The horned lizard – the state reptile of Texas – is threatened by a number of factors, including fragmentation and habitat loss, introduction of exotic grasses, pesticide use and the proliferation of red imported fire ants (which feed on the eggs).
