WALKING FOR ALZHEIMER’S AWARENESS

The Pleasanton JRTOC program participated in the Alzheimer’s Awareness Virtual Walk on Saturday, Oct. 24 in Atascosa County and raised $900 for the cause. Their participation spanned across Atascosa County and into San Antonio with cadets and parents walking a total of 3.1 miles or more in small groups to bring awareness of this awful disease. Pictured above are cadets and parents of the Pleasanton High School JROTC program after the 5K walk Saturday morning. Several community leaders supported the cause including Pleasanton Mayor Pro- Tempore Britni Van Curan, Poteet Mayor Willie Leal Jr., Poteet ISD Superintendent Charles Camarillo and Christine Mayor Stephen Martinez. Faculty advisors for the JROTC Program are Colonel Chris Wynder and CSM Elvin Nuells.
