Skateboard enthusiasts are urged to attend Vision Skate Jam III, this Saturday, August 1 at the Atascosa River Park in Pleasanton. Come test your skills and display your talent from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. in the Ollie Contest, Kick Flip, Jam Session and Best Trick Contest.

There will be valuable prizes like customized decks, wheels, etc. and even cash, as well as a Go- Pro camera! Free food and drinks will be available.

This Skate Jam is a cooperative effort with community leaders, that affirms the need for a first class Skate Park in Pleasanton, explained Bob Byrd of The Navigators.

“The City Parks Master Plan for 2015 will hopefully reflect this vision,” said Byrd. “There has been a great deal of hard work and time put forth to draw men, women and children to showcase the skills these skaters have developed.”

He requested participants to use their personal skills along with a strong emphasis on character development, to include good attitudes, clean language and respect for other participants. These views are held by Clax, Juan, Josh and The Byrdman and will be addressed at the opening of the event.

“We have received some support to help cover expenses, but additional donations will be appreciated. Come and show your support for what the future of skateboarding in Pleasanton looks like.”

A short promotional film of the event has been screening at the Plestex Theatre in Pleasanton. Filming of this upcoming event will be done by Christian Williams of Jam Fest Productions.
