What a wonderful week we have!!! It’s clear and sunny and school is out and we have a birthday party to go to tomorrow if we choose!! Sounds great to me!! If you haven’t said a prayer of “Thanks for a great country” lately, maybe you should just do that now!!
Get your calendars out and get ready to mark some great dates. Just a few so far. On Saturday, July 20, the Longhorn Museum Society will host an open house at the museum on Hwy. 97E in Pleasanton. If you are new to our town, please get acquainted with some of your neighbors and with your community as the annual “Yesteryear Festival ” is presented. Check in future columns for details.
For all of you who live in Verdi, our July meeting will be at the Verdi Community Center on FM1784 on July 25. Can you believe it’s only 5 months after that until Christmas!! The meetings, held every other month, are all held on the fourth Thursday of the month at 7:30 p.m.
I will try to get some details about the meeting soon. Be sure to contact any new members and invite them along.
You all know how I enjoy reading and then quoting wise people. Saw one this week that I have seen so many examples of lately. Thought I’d share it with you.
“As we must account for every idle word, so must we account for every idle silence.” Benjamin Franklin. It seems to me that those on the wrong side are always talking and those on the right side are mute! See you next week. Let us know your news.
