TxDOT hosts Open House to discuss I-69

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) invites you to Open House Meetings to discuss and provide input on potential improvements to U.S. 281. Three meetings will be held over the next two weeks. The first meeting will take place in Pharr on Tuesday, July 16 at 4 p.m. It will be held at the TxDOT Pharr District Conference Center, 600 West Expressway U.S. 83. On Wednesday, July 17 also at 4 p.m., the meeting will take place in Alice at the TxDOT Area Office, 1071 N. U.S. 281 Relief Route. The third meeting will be held in George West the following week on Wednesday, July 24 at the George West High School, 1013 W Houston Street, also at 4 p.m.

Each open house will be three hours.

The ultimate goal of this study and potential improvements is to bring U.S. 281 up to an Interstate quality road that can serve as I-69 in South Texas.

These meetings will follow an open house, come and go format so participants can review materials at their convenience, visit individually with TxDOT and consultant staff, and provide comments and input. The same information will be available at each meeting so you can attend the one most convenient for you.

These Open Houses are a community-wide event, so please invite your neighbors and share the meeting information with others. Spanish speaking staff will be available at the meeting.
