Think you have what it takes to be a Turn N Burn BBQ Cook Off judge? Then bring an empty stomach and head on down to the Atascosa County Show Barn on Saturday, March 9 for your chance to taste some FREE juicy, mouth-watering BBQ. Roughly 150 different teams from far and near will be competing in three different categories: chicken, ribs and brisket. Be one of 300 judges to decide who the best of the best is and who will be the 2019 Turn N Burn Grand Champion!
To be a judge, you must be 18 or older. You must have a clean palate when judging BBQ. This means you can judge as follows: chicken (12 p.m.) and brisket (3 p.m.), or just one of the three. You cannot judge both ribs and brisket nor can you judge chicken and ribs as they are back to back. You can sign up by visiting the TNB Judges’ Corner inside the Show Barn on Saturday at 11:30 a.m. with judging to start at 12 noon.
Judging times are as follows: chicken at 12 p.m., ribs at 1:30 p.m. and brisket at 3 p.m. Times are subject to change depending on the final number of teams competing.
Turn N Burn prize money is one of the largest payouts in the nation! Cash prizes will be given to the top five overall winners as well as the 1st through 15th placed teams in each category.
Judges will also be needed for the KidsQue Cook-Off held that same day starting at 3:30 p.m. Prize money is also up for grabs for this kid friendly competition.
