The annual Turn N Burn Cook Off in conjunction with Cowboy Homecoming is just around the corner, and they want YOU to participate! Think you have the guts to out-cook over 150 other participants? Then register today!

The Turn N Burn Cook Off will be held on Saturday, March 10 at the Atascosa River Park in Pleasanton. This year’s cook off will feature chicken, ribs and brisket. A registration fee of $300 is required to sign up, which you can do by visiting www.pleasantoncofc.com or calling the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce at 830-569-2163. The Chamber strongly encourages participants to register NOW, before the event, as they need time to find each team a spot at the park. They will still accept registration the week and days leading up to the event, but it would make it easier on everyone to register before then. It is estimated that anywhere between 150-200 teams are expected to register for the event, so sign up today to secure your spot!

Also, the Turn N Burn KidsQue is back this year and will take place on Friday, March 9. Bring your little iron chefs down to the park for a little fun and tasty competition. Registration is now available at stxlive.wufoo.com/forms/turn-n-burn-kidsque/ and a registration fee of $25 per kid cook is required.

Cowboy Charcoal will be providing pork chops and charcoal for all kid cookers, however, each kid must bring their own BBQ pit to cook on. Set up is in the KidsQue Area at the baseball field in the Atascosa River Park from 4-5:30 p.m. Check-in (meat selection and tray pick-up) is at 5:45 p.m., the Kids Cook Meeting is at 6 p.m. and Turn In is at 7 p.m.

Awards will be handed out on Saturday with the Turn N Burn Cook Off BBQ Awards. All KidsQue participants must pre-register at the link above. You can also find the link on the “Turn N Burn Cook Off” Facebook page.

It is estimated that around 400-500 judges are needed to help judge both the KidsQue and Turn N Burn Cook Off to help find the best cook in each category. To sign up for, visit the judges’ tent to register. For more information on registration or to become a sponsor, you may contact the Pleasanton Chamber of Commerce at 830-569-2163 or email kidsquenation@outlook.com. Keep an eye out for more updates on their Facebook page and all Pleasanton Express social media.

Connor Sparks and Kylie Sparks, children of Megan and Kevin Sparks, were serious contenders in last year’s KidsQue competition held during Cowboy Homecoming and Turn N Burn. Sign up and compete in this year’s event by calling 830-569-2163
