Tuesday Volleyball: Charlotte’s playoff hopes take a hit; Poteet falls in three

The Charlotte Trojanettes needed a win Tuesday night against Agua Dulce to keep their playoff hopes strong. Instead, they fell in four sets to Agua Dulce (21-25, 25-23, 23-25, 20-25).

Jessalyn Sanchez led the way with three kills, five digs and three aces. Mercedes Sanchez tallied four digs and four assists for the Trojanettes.

Mia Campos and Julissa Cantu also had four digs.

Charlotte (4-8 in District 31-2A) hosts Three Rivers this Friday at 6 p.m.

Poteet swept by Gonzales

The Poteet Lady Aggies were defeated by the Gonzales Lady Apaches in three sets (21-25, 14-25, 19-25).

Senior Tahis Ramirez posted seven aces in the match along with sophomore Stevani Monreal’s four aces. Seniors Kylie Garcia and Clarissa Benavides both had three kills, Benavides also had 10 digs.

The Poteet Lady Aggies (1-7 in 30-4A) will head to La Vernia this Friday for their last away game of the season.
