Maximus Rowland applies a tag to a Mason baserunner in Charlotte’s 9-1 win over the Punchers on Friday, May 7. Anthony Romo, Mario Campos and Andru Castillo each had two RBIs for the Trojans in Friday’s win. Romo was 4-for-4 at the plate. Brandon Sanchez picked up the win on the mound, allowing one run on six hits and four walks against four strikeouts. Charlotte then ran into a buzzsaw on Saturday, losing 21-1 in game 2 before Mason won 11-4 in game 3. Rowland was the pitcher of record for Charlotte in game 2, allowing six runs on zero hits without recording an out. Campos took the loss in game 3, allowing eight runs in 4 2/3 innings. Castillo had two RBIs in Saturday’s doubleheader.
