The Charlotte Trojanettes dominated their District 30-2A opener, beating Yorktown 15-3 in five innings on Tuesday, March 10.

The Trojanettes (9-3-1, 1-0) got the scoring started early with a five-run first inning. Mia Campos, Stephanie Ramos, Ashley Gaitan and Angel Cruz each had RBI singles to break open the scoring in the first frame.

Charlotte scored 13 unanswered runs in the first four innings before Yorktown could manage a response.

Ramos was 4-for- 4 with five RBIs, a home run and a double in the win. Jessalyn and Mercedes Sanchez each finished 3-for-4 with two RBIs.

Gaitan picked up the win after five innings of work where she allowed three runs on seven hits with five strikeouts.
