Drum roll please! The Charlotte High School Mighty Trojan Band is “rising” to the challenge of preparing for their UIL Region Marching Contest on Saturday, Oct. 13 in Hondo.

Since Aug. 1, the members of the band have been working nonstop for their goal to push past the limits.

Charlotte band director, Anthony Castillo, addressed, “They have been diligent and persistent with memorizing music and learning the marching drill for this year. I am proud in the progress that the band makes everyday.”

Senior drum major, Annelise Gaitan, also had some comments on the band’s goals for this year.

“It is our goal to make a Division 1 during competition and advance to Area this year,” she said.

Gaitan has been drum major for the Charlotte band all fours years of her high school career.

“I want the band to progress and go farther than we ever have before this year,” Gaitan said.
