Tragic accident claims lives of young teen, infant

The family of Summer Perez and Brixton Knotts are asking for the community’s support as they mourn the loss of their loved ones after a tragic accident claimed their lives two weeks ago.

According to DPS, on Nov. 1 at approximately 1:42 p.m., a 2016 Ford Fusion was traveling southbound on US-281 four miles south of Pleasanton. The driver, identified as Ally Perez of Pleasanton, was attempting to cross over the northbound lanes of 281 toward Leal Road when her vehicle was struck by a 2001 Dodge Ram 1500 towing a top hat industries trailer. Perez was transported by Atascosa County EMS to University Hospital in San Antonio. The front passenger, Summer Perez, 19, of Pleasanton, was pronounced deceased on the scene. The rear passenger, 6-month-old Brixton Knotts, was transported to University Hospital by AirLife 4 where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The driver of the Dodge Ram sustained injuries from the crash and was treated on scene. The investigation is still ongoing by DPS.
