With hunting season starting again, it’s time for our deer contest. With that comes a few rules and guidelines to follow.
The deer contest is limited to white tail only, no exotics.
There are five categories in this contest and they are as follows: Most points, widest spread, best in archery, junior, best all-around division (18 & under) and best allaround.
The deer must be killed in Texas and be properly tagged.
The hog contest has two categories, longest hog divison (adults 17 and up) and best overall hog in a youth division.
It should be measured from the very tip of the nose to the very tip of its tail.
You may bring your trophy by the office to be measured or have sufficient evidence the animal was taken this year if you are providing a photo, you may also use your scorecard as the entry. Email pictures with the information to Tom at firstname.lastname@example.org, they will run as space is available.
Deer season is from Nov. 3-Jan. 20. All entries must be submitted by Jan. 21.
There will be prizes for the winners of the contest, and they will be announced throughout the hunting season.
At the end of the season, all winning adult hunters and their special guest are invited to the annual Pleasanton Lions Club Wild Game Dinner & Dance where they will be recognized and awarded their prizes.
