Third time’s a charm?

What’s the old saying “Third times a charm?” I certainly hope that it is true … especially now with the Pleasanton ISD Bond election coming up in a few weeks.

Two other elections have failed, but this time … I believe that they have a winner.

A committee was formed – including those who supported and did not support both bond proposals.

They prioritized what they thought needed to be addressed and through this collaborative effort – involving the group, the district, architect and financial expertsa plan is now set in motion. The $63 million bond will include a new 135,000 square foot elementary school campus, a renovation to the high school, intermediate and junior high schools, adding on to the primary school, a new agriculture barn to house small animal projects, safety features to enhance the campuses and energy efficient systems to save on operating costs. I know I have used this comparison in the past, but it still remains … for a home that is valued at $100,000 the additional tax that we would have to pay would be under $35 per month. That is less than ONE cup of coffee at your favorite place every day.

If you are over 65 years of age it won’t cost you any extra.

Some folks have voiced concerns over “the signs” posted around the area. These signs have NOT been purchased with school nor taxpayers funds.

The way I see it, these parents, teachers, grandparents and folks who care about the education of our children have helped to promote the passage of this bond. Won’t you please support it by voting FOR the bond?
