Rebecca Pesqueda has been promoted from reporter to News Editor of the Pleasanton Express. Rebecca was raised in Charlotte and graduated in 2013 as Salutatorian of Charlotte High School. She was involved in band, cheer, sports, UIL Academics, One Act Place National Honor Society and was Yearbook editor for two years. She graduated from Mary Hardin Baylor with degree in English Literature in May 2017.
“I discovered my love for writing when I was in third grade, but found my passion for telling people’s stories during my sophomore year of high school when my grandfather passed away,” said Pesqueda. “My initial plan was to major in Journalism in college, but I changed to an English Literature major as my goal is to become a published author one day. Never did I imagine myself working in the newspaper industry, but here I am enjoying every bit of it, the good and the bad. I have enjoyed meeting the people in our Atascosa County community and telling their stories. I have finally found my place in this community and it is with the crazy, fun and loving people the Pleasanton Express. Thank you for taking me in and trusting me to tell your stories.”
