The Way I See It

Angel construction noticed

I t isn’t often that you get to acknowledge people doing great things for our community.

But it’s even harder when these great people don’t want to be acknowledged.

I’m all about keeping things private for the sake of those who don’t want the attention – for those who are giving and equally for those who are receiving.

So … I’ll attempt to acknowledge these shy angels the best that I can.

A family’s home was in need of some repair. The mother of four kids was holding down her household while her husband was deployed in the military.

She asked a friend for a recommendation and that is when the simple repair took on a life of its own.

That small request blossomed into a complete makeover for this family.

The one bathroom home turned into three.

The home was re-wired, new drywall, paint, flooring and even some new appliances were installed.

A roof, carport and driveway were also replaced. The yard was re-sodded and landscaped as well.

The best part about this? It was all done by donations of time, material and equipment. Local businesses and individuals lended a helping hand. Even better was that it was all being done on the sly. The mother and her children had no idea they would be coming home to a whole new home.

The way I see it, it is so rewarding to know that there are such people in our midst.

So thank you, kind earthly angels – all of you. You have shown us how to live and to know that recognition for being kind and giving is not important at all.
