The Way I See It

Summer swan’s song

A s the summer starts winding down for families who still have children in school, it brings up a thought for one last trip to do something fun or relaxing before the days of homework and schedules begin.

Though it doesn’t affect me any longer, I can still give some suggestions on how to do this, right?

We are lucky to live in this area. We can be at the beach or the Hill Country in a matter of a couple of hours. I don’t know why, but a few years ago, I would avoid traveling to these places if I didn’t have a whole weekend to spare. But, after doing day trips to the beach and Hill Country, it really is a great little get-away.

All I need is a few hours on the beach – hearing the waves and watching them roll in. Getting out in the water and letting the swells lift you off the ocean bottom and feeling the water crash against your back. I even like hearing the seagulls squawk at each other while scavenging for food.

The Hill Country offers just that….hills. Our flat area full of brush and coastal is alright but the rocks and clear, cold rivers offer rapids for tubing or a cool spot to sit and enjoy good conversation.

The way I see it, there is something about an impromptu road trip that makes for an interesting day. If you can share it with your family and/or friends, even better!

That’s the way I see it, let me know your view – email me at, or write at P.O. Drawer 880, Pleasanton, Tx 78064.
