The Way I See It

Very pinteresting

When new trends hit, I’d like to think that I am on top of them. I realize that it is impossible to really be in the know on every new development but I can try, eh?

I started seeing very interesting items posted on my friends Facebook walls with

Pinterest. My friends were talking about it and asking me why don’t I join.

First, I did my due diligence by doing what I normally do when I want to know something about the thing I know nothing…

I Googled it.

Hmmm….According to the website “Pinterest is a virtual pinboard.” So in my terminology it is a bulletin board – much like the one I had when I was in high school – filled with items I like, treasure or want to remember.

So I thought, why NOT join? I soon found out you have to be approved. It wasn’t like

MySpace or Facebook or even opening a

Gmail account. I had to seek approval.

It seemed like it was days before I heard that I was worthy of being a pinner.

So now I can officially pin and follow other pinners – and waste even more time on the computer. While I haven’t pin/shared/followed much, I will say that I enjoy scrolling through and seeing what others have shared.

There’s recipes, art, fashion, quotes, crafts, wedding planning, just about anything you are interested in is right there. You can gather swatches of paint, fabric, carpet and virtually redesign a room in your home. Want to create a menu? No problem, search and pin your whole meal to keep as an idea for future plans.

The way I see it, while I don’t need another thing to take up my time, at least I don’t have to actively answer, comment or update my status. Please fellow pinners, don’t take offense if I haven’t started following you….yet! That’s the way I see it, let me know your view – email me at sbrown@pleasantonexpress.com, or write at P.O.
