Thankful, always

The Way I See It

A s Thanksgiving approaches and most are clamoring for ingredients for a delicious dish or meal, or heading out on the road to join their families or friends, let’s all pause to show and give our thanks.

Yes – there are days when our thankfulness is tested, but then there are bright spots or a simple kind gesture shows us that we can still show or embrace our gratitude in the darkest of times.

I’m very thankful for my children, their spouses and the family we have become – plus adding their in-laws to our fold.

I’m also thankful for my brother and his kids. I mentioned to friends that I have talked more to my brother the past few years than I did when we were growing up! His family has grown by three more grandchildren recently and we are thankful they are healthy, sweet and wonderful babies. I’m thankful for my cousins including me in their festivities and friends who treat me like family to join them as well.

I’m also thankful that I am completing my 60th rotation around the sun today.

These milestone birthdays (or any others) have never bothered me. I figure that age doesn’t mean a thing – your attitude is so much more important. I did get tickled when I saw this on Facebook – “60 is the new 40, but 9:30 is the new midnight.” Makes sense, no?

The way I see it, hoping you and yours have a safe, love-filled, gratitude inspiring Thanksgiving.
