Pleasanton Hall of Honor Come congratulate Pleasanton’s newest inductees into the Hall of Honor this Friday night at Eagle Stadium. Being inducted as fans are Nora and Gabby Elizondo and the late Evelyn Kruse. Athletes being honored are Mark Rodriguez, Leroy Childs and Tracy Greebon Knapick. The induction ceremony will take place during the halftime show of the Pleasanton Eagles vs. the Carrizo Springs Wildcats football game.
St. Matthew’s Picnic The parishoners at St. Matthew’s Catholic Church in Jourdanton are gearing up for their annual picnic this Sunday. What could be better than barbecue, kolaches and great items to bid on at the popular auction? Not much! Lunch will be served from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
County Fair October 6 & 7 The Atascosa County Fair will hold a concert/ dance this year at the large pavilion on the Poteet Strawberry Festival grounds on Saturday, October 6. Zach Edwards and the opening band of Billy Hanson and the Lone Strangers, in addition to the various home arts and prospect show competitions, will make for an entertaining weekend. The dance will be held from 7:30 p.m. until Midnight. Admission will be $10.00.
