Atascosa County Farm Bureau Board President Pete Pawelek was elected District 10 State Board Director at District Caucus on December 2 at State Farm Bureau meeting in Corpus Christi. CONTRIBUTED

The 85th Annual Texas Farm Bureau meeting was held in Corpus Christi, Texas December 1 – 3, 2018 at the American Bank Center. Atascosa County was well represented with 28 voting delegates in attendance.

During the Sunday morning general session the 2018 Pioneer Award for District 10 was presented to Jerry Morgan Kosub (posthumously). Mrs. Doris Kosub accepted the award.

During the District 10 Caucus Atascosa County Farm Bureau received several awards: Most Outstanding County Farm Bureau District 10, District 10 Outstanding Young Farmer and Rancher to Casey and Stephanie Cook, Most Outstanding Public Relations 1st place District 10, and 1st place County Leadership Activity and Membership (1501 members +). Atascosa County has been a Top 10 Continuous Gain for 27 years.

Atascosa County is well represented on the State Commodity Advisory Committees: Farm Labor – Derek Ashley, Peanuts – Bill Slomchinski, and Wheat – Ryan Novak. Serving on the 2018 Resolution Committee was Pete Pawelek

The final business of the District 10 caucus was the election of a new District 10 State Board Director. The new District 10 State Board Director is Atascosa County Farm Bureau Board President Pete Pawelek.
