Tedora Talamantez of Pleasanton passed peacefully at home on August 2, 2019 at the age of 80. She was born in Pleasanton on February 18, 1939 to Jesse and Victoria (Conde) Ortiz.
Tedora was a longtime member of St. Andrew Catholic Church. Her hobbies included gardening, cooking, spending time with her children and grandchildren. She also liked dancing and quilting in her spare time.
Tedora is survived by her beloved husband Leandro Talamantez; sons, Ruddy Talamantez and wife Margaret, David Talamantez, Leandro Talamantez, Jr. and wife Gloria and James Talamantez and wife Kristian and daughters, Betty Kilo, Maria Mendez and husband Jesse, Adela Bosquez and husband Jesse and Priscilla Garza and husband Orlando. She is also survived by 28 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Tedora is preceded in death by her parents, Jesus and Victoria Ortiz; son, Joe Talamantez; granddaughter, Allison Talamantez; son in law, Jose C. Kilo; sisters, Gumesinda Lopez, Juanita Pacheco, Evangelina Talamantez and Estella Gonzales and brothers, Jesse, Luis and Ysidro Ortiz.
Visitation will be conducted at Hurley Funeral Home in Pleasanton on Thursday, August 8 from 4-9 p.m. with a rosary recited at 7 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Andrew Catholic Church on Friday, August 9 at 10 a.m., followed by interment at San Ysidro Cemetery.
Pallbearers for Tedora’s service will be Frank Martinez, Fermine Mendez, Jeremy Talamantez, Orlando Garza, III, Jake Talamantez, David Talamantez, Jr., Mark Martinez and JR Mendez.
