Sheriff David Soward has reported in a prepared statement that after a three month long investigation, the Atascosa County Sheriff’s Office has made an arrest on several burglaries at a Charlotte restaurant.

Sheriff’s deputies have been called to the eatery on multiple occasions in the past few months to take a report where a suspect had allegedly gained entry during the night and stole small amounts of cash, food and tools. Sergeant Investigator Jesse Martinez was assigned to investigate burglaries at the café on July 12, July 17, and July 18 while Sergeant Investigator Robert Newman was conducting an investigation into the September 24 burglary. The investigators developed a suspect and interviewed him late last week. Ivan Villalobos, age 32 of Charlotte, confessed to committing the burglaries. Sheriff’s investigators charged Villalobos with four counts of Burglary of a Building. Sheriff Soward stated that bond on three of the charges was set at $8,000 each by Justice of the Peace Kyle Bradley. Bond on the 4th burglary was set at $10,000 by Justice of the Peace Orlando Carrasco. Villalobos remains in the Atascosa County Jail in lieu of bond.
