Support Christian Assistance Ministry

CAM (Christian Assistance Ministry) is headed into the fall and winter with fewer resources than in the past several months. Our 12 member churches faithfully send monthly monetary donations that are very much appreciated. But, sometimes their efforts fall short of the needs in Atascosa County. We are requesting that fellow citizens that have contribute to those who have not.

CAM serves up to 460 clients per month with food, clothing, and sometimes limited help with certain bills. CAM also impacts another 650 families by distributing day-old bread generously donated by H-E-B. Our member churches also provide volunteers who help at the CAM center during the week.

The people we help are folks that have been hit by circumstances beyond their control such as illness, accidents, fires, repairs, or even unexpected family deaths. Sometimes CAM is the only source of help in these situations. CAM can’t always give people everything they need, but we don’t turn people away whether they belong to our supporting churches or not.

You can expect to see fund raising initiatives by CAM and its member congregations in the coming months. CAM is in need of cash donations, either from groups or individuals. And of course, we always need donations of non-perishable food. There are a few in dire need of assistance at this time. We are unable to to give them all that they need due to our lack of funds.

If you or your group would like to help in these efforts, you may contact the CAM center at 210-414- 4711. Or go by the center, between 9 a.m. and noon, Monday through Friday.

We are located at 505 Avenue H, in Poteet, across the street from Tuttle Motors.

You can mail donations to P.O. Box 1446, Poteet, Texas 78065.
