Stock show time!



 

 

Make plans to attend the Atascosa Junior Livestock Show this week. Judging began yesterday and continues through the week. Of course, the big auction will be held Saturday, January 19. It will start after the Parade of Champions at 11:00 a.m. For a complete schedule and advertisers supporting the event, please see page 8-9C.

ACTing Up

Local youth and young adults will take the stage at ACT Theatre this weekend with “Beauty is a Beast”.

Showtimes are Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 2:30 p.m. and 7 p.m. with a final performance at 2:30 on Sunday.

Martin Luther King Day

MLK Day will be Monday, January 21. There will be no mail delivery on that day.

McMullen County Livestock Show is next weekend

Tilden will have their stock show January 25- 26.

The auction will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.

Glorius rain!

Our area received a good soaking last week. My gauge measured over five inches! Other reports of four inches were given as well.

Next week, will feature the annual report of rainfall, including records dating back to 1934.

Contest will end soon

Just a reminder to all of the hunters out there…. the Pleasanton Express deer contest will be ending on January 21.

You can submit your photos to our sports editor Eric Smith or come by the newspaper office with your kill.

Lions Wild Game Dinner in March

Speaking of the deer contest….the Pleasanton Lions Club is already selling tables and tickets to their yearly and delicious Wild Game Dinner.

Mark your calendars for Saturday, March 2. Better yet, call a Lions member and buy your tickets….they sell out very fast!
