KSAT 12 anchor Stephanie Serna has been a part of the KSAT team for more than 11 years.

She grew up in San Antonio and graduated from John Jay High School. Serna went to the University of Texas at Austin to pursue a degree in Journalism.

After graduation, Stephanie moved back to San Antonio and worked at KABB-TV as a studio camera operator and eventually, moved to the newsroom and worked as an editor.

Stephanie moved to Austin for a news producer job at KXAN-TV, then she moved to Waco for a reporter job. She then moved back to Austin to report for KXAN.

Stephanie also worked as a reporter in Austin at KEYE-TV, before joining KSAT in November of 2009.

Stephanie was thrilled to move back home to San Antonio.

She is an avid runner and has completed nine marathons to date!

She did not run the 2020 Rock n’ Roll in San Antonio because of COVID, but she’s hoping to train for another marathon soon to reach her goal of completing 10 full marathons.

“I’m really excited about visiting Poteet this weekend,” said Stephanie Serna. “I attended the Strawberry Festival as a kid and I had a chance to cover the festival with KSAT as well, so it will be really special being a part of the festivities again, especially with so many people looking forward to things getting back to normal.”
