Start your fitness journey with Yoga

The Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Department invites and welcomes the public to join or try out their Yoga fitness class. Bring a mat, water and friend and come on down to the Pleasanton Civic Center, 115 N. Main St., at 5:45 p.m.

Yoga classes are held every Tuesday of the week. If it is your first time, you can come by and try it out. The first class is free. After that, classes will be $2.

Yoga is a mind and body practice which combines physical postures, breathing techniques, meditation and relaxation. The main purpose of yoga is to build strength, awareness and harmony between mind and body. During the class, the instructor will introduce certain techniques or positions so the participants may follow. Yoga is a calm and low-impact type of exercise. Its focus is to calm both mind and body to create a certain more stable pose.
