Following last year’s cancellation due to coronavirus concerns, the St. Andrew Catholic Church Annual Parish Picnic has returned this year and is set for this Sunday, May 2.
Join Father Prasanna Mese and Deacons Bennie Garcia, Kurt Warnken and Joey Moczygemba for a fun-filled celebration. The church is located at 626 Market St. in Pleasanton.
The festivities will kick off this Friday night, April 30 with an outdoor street dance from 7-11 p.m. Bring out the whole family for DJ music as well as St. Andrew’s own band, The Believers. There will not be an admission fee. However, donations are welcome.
On Sunday, May 2, serving of the barbecue plates will start at 11 a.m. Plates can be purchased for $10 each and you may dine in or pick up your plates in the convenient drive-thru line. The delicious barbecue meal will consist of brisket, sausage, cole slaw, potato salad, beans, tea and, of course, dessert.
There will also be a Country Store featuring items galore and bingo with cash prizes for the winners, which will start at 1 p.m.
Also starting at 1 p.m. will be the live auction. Remember to purchase your raffle tickets for a chance to win a VISA gift card or gas grill. Tickets are only $5 each.
Parishioners are needed to volunteer before, during and for the cleaning up after the event. Signup sheets are available in the church foyer for those wishing to assist in the serving lines or with cakes, potatoes or at the barbecue pits.
