Jourdanton’s softball team won four of six games at the Navarro tournament, which was Feb. 14-15.
Kaitlyn Garcia had two hits and two RBIs as the Squaws (6-2) beat El Paso Riverside 13-3 on Feb. 14. Later that day, Jourdanton lost 7-2 to Devine. Lexi Wheeler had a hit, an RBI and struck out 10 batters in five innings during a 4-2 win against John Paul II on Feb. 15.
Also that day, Hunter Rankin and Lexi and Allie Wheeler each had three hits in a 10-1 win against Kipp Prep. Rankin and Cladi Muñoz had two hits each in a 7-2 loss to Hays Lehman. Jourdanton scored in the top of the first inning, but Hays Lehman took a 4-1 lead by the bottom of the third. Lexi Wheeler, Bailey Lemes and Vanessa Vacca each had two hits in a 7-4 win against El Paso El Dorado. Jourdanton scored six runs in the first inning and led 7-2 after the second. Mia Lopez had two RBIs.
Jourdanton beat Freer 16-1 at home on Feb. 19. Lexi and Allie Wheeler both had two hits and three RBIs. Allie Touchstone had two hits and two RBIs. Muñoz drew two walks.
Through eight games, Jourdanton has scored 71 runs.
The Squaws will host the Greatest Show on Turf tourney Feb. 21-23. They play Orange Grove at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 21, Sabinal at 10 a.m. and Lytle at 5:30 p.m. on Feb. 22 and Karnes City at 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 23. The semifinals will be 4 p.m. and 5:30 p.m. followed by the 7 p.m. championship game.
