Both the Jourdanton Indian and Squaw cross country teams are advancing to the regional meet after a stellar day at the District 30-3A meet in Dilley on Tuesday.

The Squaws took home first place as a team to qualify for the Region IV meet at Texas A&M-Corpus Christi on Oct. 28.

Helping them to that meet was a top five finish from Mckinley West (14:05) in fifth place and top 10 finishes from Jadyn Jupe in sixth (14:12) and Mallory Vickers in seventh (14:28).

The Indians finished third as a team to book their ticket to the South Texas coast.

Three top 20 finishes helped the Indians reach the regional meet with Carlos Gonzalez (19:18) finishing 15th, Gabriel Paz (19:36) finishing 17th and Evan Edwards (20:15) finishing 20th.

The JV Squaws also took home the district championship.

Head coach Debbie Brashear said the staff is extremely proud of all of their athletes.
