The Jourdanton Squaws are back into the playoffs after sweeping Karnes City last week.

To close out their season series with a pair of wins against the Lady Badgers, the Squaws won in straight sets (25-8, 25-11, 25-18) to move to 8-3 in district play.

The Squaws picked up the win behind Gwyn Wells’ double-double of 14 kills and 11 digs. Madison Yow added six kills and four blocks for Jourdanton in the win.

Macey Briones posted 17 assists while Jenny Vrana added 11.

Libero Mia Lopez had a team-high 13 digs on Tuesday.

The win assured the Squaws can finish no lower than third place in District 27-3A.

The Squaws then traveled to Poth on Saturday.

Jourdanton, after falling behind in the first two sets, was able to take the Lady Pirates to five sets, but couldn’t steal the fifth set (14-25, 25-27, 25-18, 25- 20, 9-15).

The loss moved Jourdanton to 8-4 in 27-3A and crowned Poth the district champions.

Jourdanton traveled to Cotulla on Tuesday and will host Dilley on Saturday, Oct. 24.
