September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. According to childrenscancer.org, during the month of September:
25,000 families around the world will get the horrible news that their child or teen has cancer.
6,667 families will experience the loss of a child.
One family dedicated to bringing awareness to the issue is the Galloway family of Pleasanton. In February of 2015, Crystal and Willie Galloway III lost their son Hunter Galloway, who was a little over a year old. Hunter was only 6-weeks old when he was diagnosed with embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, a form of childhood cancer developed in utero.
