The City of Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Department has partnered with the Pleasanton Express to hold Senior’s Day. Senior’s Day is a place for local senior citizens to stay active, fellowship and join together on a weekly basis. The program kicked off Monday, September 10 with a Beginners Line Dance program.
“We would like to thank Susan Ackerman for leading our Line Dance activity for the program,” said Amanda Velasquez, Director of Digital and Print Marketing for the Pleasanton Express. “Without her, we might have to bring out Mr. Aguirre or Mr. Leach to lead this wonderful group.” Velasquez joins Greg Leach, the City of Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Facilities Director and Pleasanton Parks and Recreation Facilities Coordinator Tony Aguirre, in organizing the Senior’s event. “We have big goals for this program, and I would like to thank the City of Pleasanton for allowing me the opportunity to be a part of such a fun and fantastic gathering.” Velasquez says that she will always have a special place in her heart for the community’s Senior Citizens. “Running the previous Senior Circle/55Plus group I have seen the difference this time together can make and look forward to making many more memories with my Sassy Seniors,” said Velasquez.
The Senior’s Day will continue at the Civic Center in Pleasanton with another line dance event on September 17 at 9:00 a.m. followed by Movie Day on September 24 at 9:00 a.m.
