Second quarter burst helps Trojanettes down Brackett

The Charlotte Trojanettes used a big second quarter in their first action of the new year to beat Brackett 59-13 on Friday.

After being held to 11 points in the first quarter, Charlotte went on a roll to score 22 points in the second.

The second quarter outburst was spearheaded by Julissa Cantu’s three threepointers.

Seven points off free throws from Jessalyn Sanchez in the third quarter and Cantu’s fourth threepointer helped the Trojanettes put up another 12 points.

Charlotte would close the game with 14 points in the fourth quarter thanks to six from Jasmin Santos.

Cantu finished with a team-high 19 points.

Charlotte (3-0 in 28-2A) hosted Sabinal on Jan. 7.
