SCTICA to meet in Jourdanton

The South Central Texas Chapter of Independent Cattlemen’s Association will be meeting on July 28, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. in Jourdanton at the Community Center. Snogas will be serving a roast beef dinner to our members and guests.

The speaker will be Dr. Whitney Whitworth who will speak on ‘Optimizing Reproduction through Nutrition and Herd Health. She works for Lyssy & Eckel and is out of Llano, Texas. Dr. Whitworth was raised on her father’s family ranch just north of Sisterdale, Texas, in the Hill Country. She received a Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from Angelo State University and earned her PhD from Texas A&M in 2002. She worked as a college professor and livestock specialist before joining Lyssy & Eckel in Llano. She is quick to share her passion for cattle nutrition by saying, “The first step in any animal enterprise is reproduction. If you can’t get newborns on the ground, you can’t raise them. Proper nutrition and animal health are key in maximizing reproductive performance.”

Please RSVP to Brad Cotton at (830) 391-0337 or A.L. “Windy” Miller at (210) 215-1139.
