South Central Texas Independent Cattleman’s Association (SCTICA) President Gus Gonzalez and Independent Cattleman’s Association (ICA) Vice President Brad Cotton joined ICA Executive Director Bill Hyman on “Talk About Texas” with Roy Holley on Saturday, February 24, at the San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Hall of Fame.

They discussed “fake meat” and how ICA is working to prevent this product from having a “beef” label.

Cotton also discussed how Texas Legislature members listen to “numbers” of voters so it is important to continue to recruit ICA members to give a strong voice to our legislatures.

The special guest interviewed on Saturday was Texas Agriculture Commissioner Sid Miller. Miller shared how we can follow him at the state level with different publications and discussed his recent visit with President Trump in El Paso.

South Central Texas ICA is looking forward to the 14th annual Buck Taylor SCTICA Team Roping to be held on Saturday, April 13 at the Cowboy Fellowship Arena in Jourdanton. Special guest, Buck Taylor (Newly on Gunsmoke and Turkey Creek Jack Johnson in Tombstone) is planning to attend and participate in this fun event.

We hope to see a lot of ropers this year as well as SCTICA members come out to support the event.
