Colton Schuchart added yet another no-hitter to his illustrious resume during his Jourdanton career.
The senior lefty struck out 11 and only allowed one batter to reach on a dropped third strike in Jourdanton’s 11-1 win over Natalia on Thursday. It was Schuchart’s fifth career no-hitter.
The feat came hours after Schuchart signed his letter of intent to play baseball at Northwestern College.
Luis Buentello was the one to break up Schuchart’s perfect game in the top of the second inning. After reaching on the dropped third strike, Buentello would come around to score on three passed balls to give Natalia their lone run.
Jourdanton’s offense made up for it, scoring three runs in the fourth inning and five in the fifth to invoke the run rule.
Caden Fuselier delivered the walk-off RBI on a ground ball and subsequent error by Natalia that let Nick Cordova score. It was the third RBI of the game for Fuselier.
Cole Andrus delivered a three-run home run to open the scoring in the first inning.
Schuchart also went 2-for-4 with a pair of RBIs on his ledger.
Jourdanton (8-4, 4-2) travels to Cotulla on Tuesday. They will host Dilley on Friday, April 9.
