Mwangaza Choir still here The very talented Mwangaza Youth Choir from Uganda is still in our county. They will be performing on Friday, March 8 at First Baptist Church in Charlotte at 7 p.m. and then at Lytle Country Baptist Church on Wednesday, March 13.
Cathy Self Morgan does it again Former Jourdanton and University of Texas Longhorn standout basketball player Cathy Self Morgan has won her second basketball championship. The 5-A Duncanville team is number two in the nation. The head coach and her team finished the season 42-0 as well as 70 straight basketball wins. See the article by Maggie Rodriguez on page 1C.
Travis’ letter at Alamo Col. William Barret Travis’ “victory or death” letter he wrote during the siege of the Alamo is on display for a few more days. Admission is always free at the Alamo and you may want to wear comfy shoes. Some have waited four hours in line to view the historic letter. It will be there until Thursday, March 7, from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.
