Sandra Gaile McClure, born August 18th 1944 in Falfurrias was called home to be with our heavenly father on September 20, 2017 in Lake City, Iowa after complications due to pneumonia.
As a child, Sandy grew up in Falfurrias and attended The Sacred Heart Catholic School. She was an animal lover, a gifted artist, gardener, gifted singer & dancer. She was a homemaker, as well as a CNA. Sandy married the love of her life on March 4, 1965, Charles Austin McClure. Together they traveled and lived in Texas, Ohio and Rhode Island with their four children. After moving back to Texas in 1975, they lived on the farm in Premont and later after their children were grown, they moved to Annaville. Sandra had moved to Rockwell City Iowa in 2015 and was a resident at Shady Oaks Nursing and Rehabilitation in Lake City Iowa after complications with her health. Sandra was preceded in death by her husband Charles A. McClure, her mother Ora Belle Craig, father Earl Craig, and her brother Ernest Craig. She is survived by her four children, Terrie Gaile Villarreal (Rick) Iowa, Debra Belle Mackay (Tom), Rebecca Ann Duke, both of Pleasanton, William Martin McClure (Kathy), Tomball.
Sandra was blessed with six grandchildren, Iris Nacole Watts (John) San Antonio, William Michael Garcia, Lauren Brianna Villarreal, Rockwell City Iowa, Timothy James Mackay, Pleasanton, Dwight Austin Duke, Atascosita, and Emily McClure of Tomball. She also was blessed with one great grandchild, Rordan King Watts. Sandy also leaves behind her two nephews, Ernest Craig of San Antonio, and Stephen Craig of Pleasanton as well as numerous cousins and friends both in Texas and Iowa.
A graveside service will be conducted at Hilltop Cemetery in Tilden on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at 10 a.m.
