Kathryn Francesca Salatino, of San Antonio, Texas, and Patrick James Krawietz, formerly of Poth, Texas, are happy to announce their marriage on July 31 in Puerto Aventuras, Mexico.
The bride is the daughter of Raffaele and Mary Salatino of Hanover Park, Ill. She is the maternal granddaughter of the late Dorothy and Harold Harlan of Lake City, Minn. Katie is the paternal granddaughter of the late Francesca and Dominic Salatino of Chicago, Ill., via Bari, Italy.
The groom is the son of Peter and Carolyn Krawietz of Poth, and Leona Kopecki Meadows of Jourdanton, Texas. He is the grandson of the late Thomas and Irene Bronder Kopecki of Poth, and the late Luke and Margaret Zaiontz Krawietz of Falls City, Texas.
Festivities began as guests arrived from around the country to this small Mexican town on the Mayan Riviera. Family and friends got in the spirit of fun while enjoying activities such as parasailing, snorkeling, swimming with dolphins and relaxing at the pool.
The rehearsal dinner took place on July 30 at a local fun restaurant, Gringo Dave’s, with 30 guests enjoying good food, great fellowship, and Texas-sized margaritas.
The wedding was held on July 31 at the Omni Hotel, Puerto Aventuras, Mexico. A local celebrant officiated the ceremony, which was attended by 30 friends and relatives. The sunset ceremony took place on the beach and was primarily decorated with a perfect blue sky, turquoise, blue and green waters of the Carribean, and cool pale white sands, but enhanced by the attire of all ladies present who wore fuschia at the bride’s request. The unity of the marriage was further enhanced and celebrated by the unity of the party’s coordinated attire.
The father of the bride escorted the bride to her bridegroom. Maid of Honor was Agnes Kim, lifelong friend of the bride, of Pasadena, Calif. Best man was Keith Kouba, college roommate of the groom, of Las Cruces, N.M. Connor and Cole Vinikoff, the groom’s twin nephews, of Magnolia, Texas, served as ceremony attendants, distributing tissues to guests with their adorable charisma and natural charm.
The post-ceremony cocktail hour, distributed by the on-site roaming staff, was enjoyed by all with cool towels, icy Mexican cervezas, and a signature wedding cocktail, Wedding Cake Martini. The drinks were enhanced with a selection of local regional appetizers.
The reception, held at the large pavilion-style Pallapa at the Omni, included dinner and music. Toasts of Jagermeister were given to the couple by Keith Kouba, Kevin Kotara of San Antonio, lifelong friend of the groom, and Agnes Kim, Brandi Rubio, and Marissa Zogg Harris, all friends of the bride.
All celebrated the festivities and had a fun week enjoying the private bay of the hotel with abundant off-shore snorkeling, sand castle building, and local tourist explorations and adventures.
The bride is a graduate of Illinois State University with a degree in Physical Education with an Emphasis in Exercise Science and Fitness Leadership.
The groom is a graduate of Texas A & M University, College Station. Both are employed by USAA and are working on their Masters degrees in Organizational Leadership and Business at Our Lady of the Lake University with anticipated graduation in 2013.
They are making their home in San Antonio.
