SA Mega Food Drive Sept. 19 at River Park



 

 

The City of Pleasanton and the Parks & Recreation department will be hosting the San Antonio Food Bank Mega Food Drive at the Pleasanton River Park on Saturday, Sept. 19 starting at 10 a.m. You may register on-line or via phone.

“There’s still plenty of time for families to sign up for the food drive,” said Tabitha Garza, Parks & Recreation. “Please feel free to call 830-569-5904 if you do not have access to a computer or are not comfort- able with technology. I will gladly help you sign up.”

Please take note that the food bank is limiting each vehicle to two families worth of product. If three people who pre-register arrive in one vehicle, they will only receive food for two households worth.

All COVID-19 protocols will be in place, so please wear a mask when accepting food. You do not have to exit your vehicle during the food drive. Please have your trunk or back seat of car empty to be able to accept boxes of both nonperishable and fresh food.

The gates will open at approximately 10 a.m. Saturday morning and line up will take place off E. Adams Street. The San Antonio Food Bank actively fights hunger and feeds hope in the San Antonio and southwest Texas areas. Through their network of 500 partner agencies, the San Antonio Food Bank distributes thousands of pounds of food through mobile pantries and food fairs. The SA Food Bank serves 58,000 individuals each week with 74,000,000 meals served annually.
